Perl Engineer
Summary
We are looking for a Senior Perl Engineer to join our Engineering team. As a Senior Perl Engineer you will work with a team of engineers customizing and implementing new and existing products.
Responsibilities
+Create, extend, and maintain Perl-based web and RSS crawler
+Collaborate and work with other team members, product management, and management to define requirements that meet company's needs
+Combination of large and small projects
Requirements
- Perl EXPERT with primary experience in object-oriented Perl development
- 5+ years Perl experience a must
- 5+ years experience in developing internet products and technologies
- In depth knowledge using and deploying CPAN libraries
- Packaging of Perl libraries using shell scripts and/or C
- Familiarity with source control practices (Subversion preferred)
- Mysql experience, with in depth knowledge of SQL query optimization
- Prior experience working in the search engine/ad network space
- Previous experience developing new products
- B.S C.S. with concentration on distributed or meshed network applications
- Works well in a team environment as well as an individual contributor
- Effective communicator
- Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize appropriately
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Experience developing in PHP a plus
